Veteran Pathway Program
SkyHawk provides a complete pathway for disabled veterans to enter the drone industry — from training to certification and employment.
1. Foundational Training and Certification
Participants begin the SkyHawk Veteran Pathway Program with structured FAA Part 107 training designed to build a strong foundation in airspace regulations, weather analysis, flight safety, and operational compliance.
SkyHawk utilizes industry-recognized learning platforms to deliver standardized and comprehensive instruction. This ensures all participants receive consistent, high-quality training aligned with FAA requirements and real-world operational expectations.
Training is reinforced through guided instruction, mentorship, and practical application to ensure participants are not only prepared to pass the FAA Part 107 exam, but also understand how to operate safely and effectively in mission-driven environments.
2. Certification and FAA Credentialing
Following completion of foundational training, participants advance to the certification phase, where they are prepared to successfully obtain their FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
SkyHawk provides structured exam preparation, mentorship, and guidance to ensure each participant is fully equipped to pass the FAA certification exam. This phase emphasizes knowledge retention, test readiness, and application of regulatory requirements in real-world operational scenarios.
Where applicable, SkyHawk supports participants through exam reimbursement assistance and continued mentorship to remove barriers to certification and ensure successful program completion.
3. Employment and Operational Deployment
Upon successful certification, participants transition into operational roles where they gain real-world experience supporting UAS missions and project execution.
SkyHawk facilitates placement opportunities through its internal operations and established industry partnerships, including collaboration with organizations such as Drone Brothers and other UAS service providers. Certified pilots are positioned to support aerial imaging, infrastructure inspections, mapping operations, and mission-critical data collection efforts.
This phase focuses on bridging the gap between certification and employment by providing hands-on experience, operational exposure, and access to a growing network of contracting and subcontracting opportunities.
4. Workforce Development and Career Advancement
SkyHawk will continue to support program graduates beyond initial certification and placement by providing ongoing mentorship, advanced training opportunities, and career development pathways within the unmanned aircraft systems industry.
Participants have access to continued skill development in specialized areas such as infrastructure inspection, mapping and data analysis, and mission-specific operations aligned with government and commercial contract requirements.
